Remember back when we were young and did not have a care in the world? Me too. My biggest concern was if I could convince my parents to let me and my best friend have a sleepover. Growing up, my friends and I always had sleepovers for special events (mostly birthdays) or the occasional pre-planned-for-no-reason sleepover, and that would be all we could talk about the week leading up to it. It was like a girls’ night out, but we were all kids or tweens. 

In fact, my 8th birthday party (a special event sleepover) is one of my fondest memories. All the girls in my grade came over, and we were upstairs messing around with some kids’ makeup my mom got me from Walmart. We were being loud, so my dad came up to tell us to be quieter, or he would jokingly shave our eyebrows off. We took that as a challenge, and all 11 of us tackled him to the ground and covered him in our glitter makeup. He had glitter in his ears for months. It still cracks me up.
